Springfield Residential Development, Springfield, Queensland (EPBC2019/8575)
The following notice is published pursuant to section 95B(2) of the EPBC Act.
Cherish Enterprises Pty Ltd is seeking approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) to develop a residential subdivision in Springfield, Queensland (EPBC 2019/8575).
The proposed development was determined a controlled action under the EPBC Act with assessment by Preliminary Documentation. The controlling provisions are listed threatened species and communities (sections 18 and 18A of the EPBC Act), including the Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) (combined populations of QLD, NSW and ACT), Grey-headed Flying-fox (Pteropus poliocephalus), Swift Parrot (Lathamus discolor), Regent Honeyeater (Anthochaera phrygia), Macadamia Nut (Macadamia integrifolia), Shaggy-leaved Coleus (Coleus habrophyllus), Angle-stemmed Myrtle (Gossia gonoclada), White-throated Needletail (Hirundapus caudacutus), Collared Delma (Delma torquata) and Lowland Rainforest of Subtropical Australia Threatened Ecological Community.
The Preliminary Documentation for the proposal was published and public comments were sought between Friday the 13th February to Thursday the 12th March 2026. A total of 1786 comments were received. The period for public comment has now closed.
A copy of the Preliminary Documentation and a summary of the comments received is available for public viewing for a period of 20 business days from Thursday the 23rd July to Thursday the 20th August 2026. Hard copies of the Preliminary Documentation and summary of comments will be available at each of the following locations:
