INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
Scenic Precinct, Springfield, Queensland (EPBC2020/8651)
Springfield City Group Pty Ltd is seeking approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) to develop a mixed-use precinct on Lot 51 on SP242316, part of Lot 1 on RP863336 and part of Lot 50 on SP242316 located at Springfield College Drive, Springfield, Queensland (EPBC 2020/8651).
The proposed development was determined a controlled action under the EPBC Act with assessment by Preliminary Documentation. The controlling provisions are listed threatened species and communities (sections 18 and 18A of the EPBC Act), including the Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) (combined populations of QLD, NSW and ACT), Grey-headed Flying-fox (Pteropus poliocephalus), Swift Parrot (Lathamus discolor) and Regent Honeyeater (Anthochaera phrygia).
In accordance with section 95A(3) of the EPBC Act, public comments were invited on the Preliminary Documentation for the proposed Scenic Precinct development for 15 business days from the 27th November to 17th December 2025. The timeframe in which comments will be accepted has been extended by 14 business days until Friday the 9th January 2026.
The reason for the extension is a security setting on the email address nominated to receive submissions may have been applied causing an unknown number of emails to have been potentially blocked during the publication timeframe.

Ipswich City Council – Ground Floor, 1 Nicholas Street, Ipswich, QLD 4305
State Library of Queensland – Stanley Place, South Brisbane, QLD 4101
