Paul joined Saunders Havill Group in 1992 as a surveying assistant. High motivation in further self-development, has seen Paul progress through the roles of survey technician and field surveyor into his current role of drafting manager. Paul has benefited from the experience of developing high quality field surveying techniques and hands-on knowledge of construction methods and data reduction procedures. Paul’s exposure to a wide range of surveying practices enables him to more effectively transform raw survey data and survey notes into high quality survey plan presentations. Paul is highly skilled in working with various coordinate systems such as MGA and BCSG02.

Paul has 25 years’ experience using computer aided drafting programs such as AutoCAD, Magnet (formally Civilcad) & 12d Model software and has been utilising the Global Mapper GIS software for mining and mapping applications over the last 5 years.

Paul is highly skilled in the calculation and preparation of complex 3D volumetric parcels and plans, with significant involvement in the survey calculations and plans presentations for the Roma Street Parklands redevelopment, Inner Northern Busway and Airport Link Excision surveys.

Paul has extensive knowledge of Mixed-Use title schemes and developments. Many of these projects incorporate a mix of plans to deal with the volumetric reconfiguration, community title scheme and building management statement requirements. Recent projects include a 65 Lot commercial and residential development over the airport link tunnel at Woolloongabba and a 60 lot social housing and commercial development over volumetric busway land at Lutwyche.

Paul has extensive knowledge of the As Constructed requirements for all of the SE Queensland local government regions and utility providers, producing final as Constructed drawings and information for all of our large-scale residential developments.

Paul is highly skilled in digital terrain modelling, producing large scale 3D survey models for conceptual design projects utilising Lidar and point cloud data, through to survey accurate models combining field survey data for detailed engineering design.

Paul’s diverse knowledge and attention to detail has seen him assist in the further development of our QA checking procedures and forms.

Paul manages a team of highly skilled, motivated individuals whose diverse range of talents and complementary skills combine to create a capable drafting outfit able to delivering on any client expectations.
