In conjunction with Merlo Coffee and Blue Sky Nursery in Alberton, Saunders Havill Group proudly launched its inaugural PARK(ing) day event on Friday 16 September. PARK(ing) Day is an annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places.
Barista made coffee and public open space - what a mix!
Located in front of our Bowen Hills office at 9 Thompson Street, our Landscape Architects and Urban Designers whipped up all of the essential elements to create a relaxing, reclaimed parking space to enjoy with a morning coffee.
The event was very successful and became the talk of the neighbourhood as locals enjoyed their Merlo Coffee in the sunshine amongst the “urban agriculture” park space.
For more information on PARK(ing) Day, you can visit http://parkingday.org/, or speak to one of our talented urban design, planning and landscape architect team members.
